MTV Announces THE HILLS Is Renewed For Second Season

MTV Greenlights Season Two Of The Hit Series THE HILLS

Reality Drama Series Gets The Green Light For An All New Season In The City Where Anything Can Happen

On the heels of a wildly successful first season, MTV: Music Television announced that THE HILLS, the spin-off of LAGUNA BEACH, starring Lauren Conrad, will return for a second season. THE HILLS will return along with Lauren′s three new friends, Heidi, Audrina and Whitney as MTV′s cameras continue to capture the drama, relationships, hardships and work struggles that is the girls′ lives in Los Angeles. The season finale of THE HILLS will air on Wednesday, August 2nd at 10:00PM (ET/PT).

"THE HILLS took our audience on an exciting ride told through the eyes of four young ladies trying to survive in LA," said Lois Curren, EVP Series Entertainment and Programming for MTV. "The series really connected with our viewers, so it was an easy decision to bring it back for another season and we are delighted to continue working with the cast as we showcase the next stage of all their lives."

THE HILLS premiere on May 31st was a huge success earning a 3.2 (P12-34) rating and was the most watched telecast for the night among P12-24 across all of television. To date, the series has reached 58.8 million viewers (P2+) and is still the most watched in its time period among P12-34 across all of television, even outdelivering the broadcast networks. Additionally, the season-to-date (5/31-7/25) has generated 3.79 million streams on MTV′s Overdrive and has been the top viewed series on MTV.com, having earned over 1.2 million visits.
