QUEER EYE Kicks Offs Third Season On June 7

In its third season, the Emmy Award-winning Bravo favorite, QUEER EYE FOR THE STRAIGHT GUY, kicks off with a shortened title and an emphasis on more emotionally driven storytelling pegged to the straight guys' unique situations. Now titled simply QUEER EYE, the new season is set to premiere Tuesday, June 7 at 10 PM ET/PT.

"The new abbreviated title for the series is a nod to the show´s status in the world of pop culture," said Lauren Zalaznick, President, Bravo. "QUEER EYE has become part of our everyday vernacular."

Season three kicks off as the Fab 5 (Carson Kressley, Jai Rodriguez, Kyan Douglas, Thom Filicia and Ted Allen) take on five of the world famous Red Sox (Kevin Millar, Johnny Damon, Jason Varitek, Tim Wakefield and Doug Mirabelli) and try to reverse their curse of bad style. The QUEER EYE guys descend on Red Sox spring training and turn the stadium´s press room into a spa, complete with scented candles, a pedicure station, and a separate fashion area. Each player is outfitted with a new look and treated to an assortment of services including massages, pedicures, hair highlights and even a little back waxing! The Fab 5 also teams with the players´ wives - Jeanna Millar, Michelle Damon, Karen Varitek, Stacy Wakefield and Kristin Mirabelli - to help the community raise money for some Florida little leaguers to re-build their baseball fields that were severely damaged by Hurricane Charley. These future all-stars are given the surprise of their lives when they are invited to play a couple of innings at the stadium with the Red Sox and the Fab 5!

The Fab 5 continue to work their make-better magic on straight men throughout the season, with new installments that will make viewers laugh and cry in the same breath.

"We´ve put the spotlight on some intriguing subjects this season, ordinary people who´ve done extraordinary deeds as well as people who have an amazing outlook on life, but a challengingly poor sense of style." This season we´ve stepped things up a notch by focusing on compelling personal stories that will make this appointment television at its best."

Highlights include:
* Lee, a stay-at-home super dad to his eight foster children.
* Hector, a war veteran injured in Iraq, who returns home and adjusts to life in a wheelchair.
* Paulo, a new father of two-year-old quintuplets.
* Gary, a cystic fibrosis survivor who, against the medical odds, is about to celebrate his 40th birthday with the help of good friend, Boomer Esiason.

"The Hollywood featured in GOING HOLLYWOOD is a place few have seen, and is a refreshing take on what we all believe constitutes ´celebrity,´" said David Abraham, executive vice president and general manager, TLC. "Beyond the glamorous premieres and jet-set travel is a world where grit, ambition and, above all, hard work, are the stuff that dreams are made of. TLC will bring viewers that world, where success comes only at the price of sweat."

Followed every waking hour, seven days a week, the GOING HOLLYWOOD interns are under the microscope of Hollywood´s top power brokers. They struggle with the stressful demands of their new jobs and their new city in one of the most competitive professions in the world, all the while dealing with the high drama and personality conflicts inherent in living with other people. The whims of Hollywood can be demanding, fickle, outlandish, lavish and unpredictable... will these interns be up to it?

From the sublime to the ridiculous, the tearful to the hilarious, these ambitious amateurs will endure it all. Their journey through the Hollywood high life will balance out with the reality of an intern´s life -- a box-sized apartment that they will all share. Will they have what it takes to survive the cutthroat world of show business? Three interns are GOING HOLLYWOOD ... but how many will be staying?

Bravo´s Much Anticipated Unscripted Series BEING BOBBY BROWN Premieres Thursday, June 30

Bravo´s much-anticipated unscripted series BEING BOBBY BROWN premieres Thursday, June 30 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, and will be followed immediately by episode two at 10:30 p.m. The eight-episode, half-hour series is an introspective look at the Grammy-winning Bobby Brown, and his life as a husband, father, and friend. His own wife dubbed him the "King of R&B" and this is their royal story told from Brown´s heart. This real-life "fly-on-the-wall" look at Bobby Brown´s world will reveal deeply personal moments that vary from humorous to heartwarming and which are, at times, emotionally charged.

"This summer, Bravo launches nine new original series, each providing a distinct take on an aspect of pop culture, the arts and entertainment," said Lauren Zalaznick, President, Bravo. "Bobby Brown, by virtue of his music, fame and high profile family relationships, is a pop culture icon, whose life is played out in the media daily. This series deconstructs his public persona and provides a true 360 degree look at what his private life is like."

BEING BOBBY BROWN will follow Brown and the rest of his immediate and extended family over the course of six months. Shot documentary-style, the series will reveal the close bonds Bobby has with his wife and children and unveil what his life is like both in the spotlight and behind closed doors. The series will show Brown as a family man and husband, apart from the front-page scandals and allegations that have plagued, and at times overshadowed, his successful music career. Viewers also get a deep look into Brown´s relationships with his wife, Whitney Houston, their daughter, Bobbi Kristina, and La Princia and Bobby, Jr., his children from a previous relationship. BEING BOBBY BROWN will also uncover the direction Brown intends to take his career and introduce the important role that his brother and manager, Tommy Brown, plays as "his brother´s keeper" in his work and his life.

Over the course of the series, viewers will experience the highs and lows of BEING BOBBY BROWN, from the highs of traveling with the Browns on their family vacation to London where Bobby meets the Dalai Llama to a trip to the Bahamas where Bobby and family seek peace and personal time together. Private moments will also be shared including a romantic day date with Bobby and Whitney at a spa, as well as their love of food from dining on steaks at fine restaurants to eating flapjacks at the local pancake house. Equally balanced will be the low points of Bobby´s life, including one of many visits to the courtroom.

THE NEVADA PASSAGE Made-for-TV Adventure Competition Gets Underway in Las Vegas

THE NEVADA PASSAGE Made-for-TV Adventure Competition Gets Underway in Las Vegas

Twenty athletes from 11 states have converged in Nevada to participate in The Nevada Passage, a made-for-television, multi-sport adventure competition that begins in Las Vegas Thursday and travels across the state over six days, concluding in Reno on May 24.

The amateur athletes, paired into 10 male-female teams by profession will compete in six outdoor athletic challenges in six days at six different locations. Their experiences will be filmed and then edited into a one-hour reality television program to be syndicated and broadcast in more than 80 U.S. markets between Aug. 1, 2005, and Feb. 28, 2006. The program will air primarily daytimes during weekends, when sports program viewership typically is highest.

The Nevada Commission on Tourism (NCOT), which initiated the event, expects the program to reach at least 2 million television viewers, showing them a ruggedly beautiful landscape made for adventure, Lt. Gov. Lorraine Hunt, NCOT chair, said.

"THE NEVADA PASSAGE will reshape many travelers´ perceptions about Nevada by demonstrating that our diverse outdoor landscapes are just as awe-inspiring as our famous 24-hour cities," Hunt said. "Viewers will see places in Nevada they may never have known existed and be able to picture themselves experiencing their own adventures."

THE NEVADA PASSAGE begins with rock climbing in Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and jet skiing on Lake Mead, both near Las Vegas - four-wheel driving in the high desert near Ely, biking in Lamoille Canyon near Elko, sandboarding at Sand Mountain near Fallon and kayaking on the Truckee River Whitewater Park in downtown Reno. After each day of competition, the teams will travel to the site of the next day´s event.

"Televising The Nevada Passage will broaden our appeal to potential visitors and outdoor enthusiasts and help brand the state as an adventure destination," Bruce Bommarito, NCOT executive director, said. "The three Nevada athletes know that this state is a premier location for outdoor adventure, but we expect that the wide variety of adventure attractions will come as a surprise to many of the visiting athletes and TV viewers."

Each team will compete in all six sports, and the team with the most points will receive a trophy from the Lt. Governor during an awards ceremony at downtown Reno´s Wingfield Park Amphitheater at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24.

Three Nevada residents are among the athletes that TEAM Unlimited, the Hawaii-based company that is producing The Nevada Passage, selected for the competition: Tom Lyons and Kent Robison, both lifelong residents of Reno, and Susan Hughes of Incline Village. Other states represented in THE NEVADA PASSAGE are Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Maryland, New York, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

To emphasize that Nevada´s adventures are accessible to people of different ages and interests, TEAM Unlimited selected athletes age 25 to 57 representing a variety of professions, including bartending, finance, law, aviation, medicine, news media, firefighting, and business.

Second APPRENTICE Winner Kelly Perdew Works in Small, Windowless Office Next to the Assistant to Donald Trump´s Wife

As the winner of the second APPRENTICE, Kelly Perdew should be in line for a top job in the Trump organization. But you´d never know that from his office, reports Associate Editor Ramin Setoodeh in the May 23 issue of NEWSWEEK (on newsstands Monday, May 16). Perdew´s desk is in a small, windowless space next to the assistant to Donald Trump´s wife, Melania (Perdew has no assistant). The walls are bare, except for a dry-erase board and a U.S. map, stuck with pins marking the distributors he´s signed to buy his boss´s new line of bottled water, Trump Ice.

Spend some time with winners of the first two seasons of APPRENTICE and the reality of this reality show becomes clear - the apprentices´ $250,000-a-year gigs are less about climbing the corporate ladder, and more about using their APPRENTICE celebrity to promote Trump, reports Setoodeh. "It's a little bit too much to ask someone to be the president of an $800 million building when they haven´t had that kind of experience," says Trump.

Perdew´s calendar is filled with many distractions -- speeches to entrepreneurs about Trump and THE APPRENTICE, deadlines for writing a book about how the military teaches business skills, and acting in an ad for the Department of Defense. Bill Rancic, the first season´s winner who was ostensibly put in charge of the $800 million "Chicago: Trump Tower" project, seems to spend as much of his time reliving his TV star turn, too, reports Setoodeh. He´ll warm up a crowd of real-estate brokers or potential buyers by talking about THE APPRENTICE then the marketing team takes over to talk specifics.

Andrew loves backpacking, rafting and playing the guitar.

The Mary Anns

Mary Ann Randi Silvers is 23 years old and hails from rural Edwardsville, Kansas (pop. 4,400). She works as a waitress. For fun, she enjoys driving to Kansas City. Charlotte was Richard Gere´s dance instructor as he prepared for the film SHALL WE DANCE.

Kelly Monaco and Alec Mazo - Currently starring on the ABC Daytime drama GENERAL HOSPITAL, Kelly gained national attention when she was featured in the May 1997 edition of PLAYBOY magazine. Her partner, Alec Mazo, began dancing at age five in his native Russia. He was the Emerald Ball Latin Champion and placed first in the 2001 International Grand Ball and the 2001 Holiday Ball. He also runs the largest and most successful dance studio in Southern California. Alec recently began competing professionally with his girlfriend of four years, Edyta Sliwinska, who is partnered with Evander Holyfield for this competition.

In addition to learning precise movements and maneuvering in extravagant costumes, the pairs must maintain their focus, grace and composure during extremely high-pressured competition. Will they remain compatible during the process?

The couples have already embarked on intense training in preparation for the first live show. During the live shows, judges will give a score based on several factors, including technical execution. But the judges´ scores alone do not decide a couple´s fate. Viewers at home can call in and vote for their favorites. The scores from viewers are combined with the judges´ for an ultimate score that determines each couple´s ranking. At the end of the evening, the couple with the lowest score is eliminated (although no couple will be eliminated in the first show). When the final two couples remain, the ultimate dance-off will determine who wins the trophy.

DANCING WITH THE STARS is the American version of the international smash hit series, STRICTLY COME DANCING.

FEAR FACTOR Appearance Auction On eBay

Die-hard fans of the hit reality television show FEAR FACTOR and other thrill-seekers will bid for the chance to hurl squid at a partner while suspended in mid-air, scramble from a car dangling 25-feet above ground and chug a meal-worm and sauerkraut smoothie - all while competing against real FEAR FACTOR champions.

And wait. There´s more.

Qualified bid-winners will take on those stunts at Universal Orlando´s new Fear Factor Live attraction. Their performance will also be a live audition in front of producers from the hit FEAR FACTOR TV show, who will consider offering the winners a place on the show next season. This will be the first live audition ever conducted by FEAR FACTOR producers.

The on-line listing, is to mark the grand-opening of Universal Orlando´s new Fear Factor Live attraction - a new show that will give park guests the chance to compete in the same type of stunts they watch others perform on the TV show.

The charity auction, which will benefit Give Kids The World, began on Monday, May 2 and ends Thursday, May 12 - with opening bids set to start at $2,500. High bidders will get one of two vacation packages, listed on eBay, The World´s Online Marketplace?, which include the chance to compete in the Fear Factor Live attraction against Dean and Ashley Molina, who won this season´s FEAR FACTOR Couples´ Competition on NBC. The package also includes a four-night/five-day vacation to Universal Orlando including accommodations, round-trip airfare, theme park admission, a VIP tour of the parks and a FEAR FACTOR TV show prop signed by show host Joe Rogan.

"FEAR FACTOR has become a true phenomenon across the United States," said Bob Gault, President and CEO, Universal Orlando. "We are thrilled to offer fans of the show - and our theme park guests - the chance to compete against real FEAR FACTOR winners. This is a one time experience that can not be duplicated anywhere else."

The winners will be among the first to perform the stunts from the new attraction, which have been developed especially for theme park guests by Universal´s creative team and FEAR FACTOR show producers.

Based upon the award-winning NBC program FEAR FACTOR, Fear Factor Live marks the first time a reality television show will be transformed into a theme park experience. In each show, park guests will compete against each other in a progression of extreme stunts, which are designed to test their physical and emotional limits.

All proceeds from the listings will be donated to Give Kids The World. The charity auction can be accessed through eBay at eBay FEAR FACTOR Auction and the Universal Orlando website at www.universalorlando.com.

NBC Announces Summer Of Reality Shows

NBC gets real with Summer this year with a lineup of six original reality programs that includes the returns of THE BIGGGEST LOSER (Tuesday, August 9) and AVERAGR JOE 4: THE JOES STRIKE BACK (Tuesday, June 28), and the series premieres of I WANT TO BE A HILTON (two-hour debut on Tuesday, June 21), THE LAW FIRM (two-hour premiere on Wednesday, July 27), MEET MISTER MOM (Wednesday, August 3) and TOMYY LEE GOES TO COLLEGE (Tuesday, August 9).

The announcement was made by Craig Plestis, Senior Vice President, Alternative Programming & Development.

"NBC maintains its ongoing commitment to programming year-round with original entertainment that centers on presenting increasingly fresh and compelling alternative formats," said Plestis.

Following are format descriptions for NBC´s six original summer reality series in order of premiere dates.

I WANT TO BE A HILTON (premiering with consecutive episodes on Tuesday, June 21, 8-9 p.m. ET and 9-10 p.m. ET; regular time Tuesdays, 9-10 p.m. ET) I WANT TO BE A HILTON is a fresh, humorous - and sometimes poignant ode to the glamour and style of New York as reflected by its host and mentor Kathy Hilton, matriarch of one of the most ubiquitous families in the world.

The unscripted series charts the foibles and flirtations encountered by 14 eccentric young contestants as they vie for the opportunity to live the glamorous caviar-and-champagne lifestyle. Immersing them in the New York society scene, Hilton educates the contestants in the do´s-and-don´ts of haute couture, etiquette and even how to handle an unforgiving press. At the conclusion of each episode, Hilton eliminates the candidates based on the results of weekly challenges. The finalist wins an extravagant prize package and the opportunity to live the high life, a la a Hilton, for a year.

AVERAGE JOE 4: THE JOES STRIKE BACK (premiering Tuesday, June 28, 8-9 p.m.) The newest and boldest installment of NBC´s popular relationship series about average-looking guys with big hearts and great personalities hoping to win the love of a beautiful woman returns with more twists, turns and conflicts than ever before. This time, stunning 26-year-old red-headed beauty Anna is the alluring bachelorette. Born in Poland and raised in Las Vegas, Anna has a degree in business administration and is now a model and entrepreneur. Once again, the unsuspecting model thought she was on a traditional dating show only to be surprised by a swarm of average Joes, including a tool salesman, a pest control guy and a computer-science student pursuing his Ph.D.

In the six-episode series, the 18 enthusiastic average Joes hope to woo and win her over with their charm and personalities. But first, they´ll have to navigate through an all new series of dramatic twists and turns, outrageous surprises and their toughest competition yet - seven strikingly handsome jocks who are cocky and confident that Anna will only have eyes for them. Also included are a romantic getaway to exotic Tahiti, surprise visitors for both the Joes and Anna, and the return of three of the most popular former AVERAGE JOES in the premiere.

THE LAW FIRM (Wednesdays, 9-10 p.m. ET; premiering on July 27 with consecutive episodes) THE LAW FIRM is an eight-episode alternative drama series from multiple Emmy Award-winning producer David E. Kelley that features real lawyers competing against each other while trying actual court cases with in front of real judges and juries - resulting in outcomes that are final, legal and binding for the parties. Premier trial attorney and legal analyst Roy Black is the managing partner of THE LAW FIRM which is executive-produced by Kelley ( THE PRACTICE, ALLY MCBEAL, L.A. LAW)

As managing partner, Black will decide which of the 12 "legal eagles" will be eliminated in each episode. Smart, strong-willed and fiercely competitive, the attorneys work together in different teams each week, battling tight deadlines, intense pressure and even each other as they strategize, prepare and try their cases. The compelling cases include First Amendment issues, wrongful death cases and neighbor disputes, among others. Distinguished judges will decide some of the cases, while a jury determines the others. In the end, the top attorney will win a prize of $250,000.

MEET MISTER MOM (premiering Wednesday, August 3, 8-9 p.m. ET) - Under-appreciated Moms are given a surprise luxury vacation while Dad is left to run the household and mind the kids for a week in the hilarious new comedy reality show MEET MISTER MOM. This show is every Mom´s fantasy and every Mom´s revenge. Each episode showcases the comedy that ensues when two very busy families realize just how irreplaceable Mom is in their daily lives. Humorously told from the children´s perspectives, every episode will also include valuable information for families on how to better manage their lives together.

Soon after the game begins, the Moms are whisked away to a spa for a week of exciting adventures and rejuvenation, leaving Dad and the kids to juggle the daily tasks of the household. The Dads from each family compete head-to-head to see who can best handle the pressure of keeping the family together despite a jam-packed schedule. All the while, the Moms are secretly watching the madness on closed-circuit TV.

THE BIGGEST LOSER (premiering Tuesday, August 9, 8-9:30 p.m. ET) The first reality series in which everybody "loses," THE BIGGEST LOSER offers severely overweight participants the opportunity to undergo a radical physical makeover without any kind of surgery. Caroline Rhea returns to host the second season of the series that challenges and encourages overweight contestants as they compete for a grand prize of $250,000 in a safe and recommended manner through comprehensive diet and exercise. The life-altering and one-hour reality series gathers contestants from across the country to face real life temptations while provided with approved weight-loss skills and resources to help them transform their bodies, health - and ultimately, their lives.

A twist in how the competition is "weighted" this season will be the battle of the sexes created when the 14 hopeful yet strong-willed contestants discover themselves divided into the red team (women) and the blue team (men). Together they´ll face challenges, temptations, weigh-ins and eliminations - until the final contestant remains to claim the title of THE BOGGEST LOSER. All contestants work out under the supervision of physicians and nutritionists, in addition to the professional trainers Jillian Michael (red team) and Bob Harper (blue team) assigned to each team.

TOMMY LEE GOES TO COLLEGE (premiering Tuesday, August 9, 9:30-10 p.m. ET) - The University of Nebraska at Lincoln (UNL) welcomes a motley new student to its campus - notorious rocker Tommy Lee. At 19, Lee formed "Motley Crue," sending him on a meteoric rise to fame and fortune - who had time for college when Lee was busy touring the world and living the fast life for two glorious decades. Cut to Tommy Lee today - twice divorced and a single father of two boys. Most men in their midlife crisis buy sports cars and date young women. Lee wants something different, something money can´t buy - he wants academic redemption. So he heads off to UNL, but it won´t be class as usual when the new student is Tommy Lee. Each of the six half-hour episodes will find Lee floundering in a new fish-out-of-water situation - quintessential collegiate challenges such as finding his roommate Matt, trying out for the marching band and cramming for finals in true Tommy Lee fashion with his hot tutor, Natalie, in tow.

SITUATION: COMEDY
Tuesday, August 2 at 8:00 p.m. & weekly at 9:00 p.m.
For writers, producers, and television executives, it´s a nerve-racking time where ideas are passionately pitched, made, and the next big hits must be found. Yet outside the industry, the painstaking process that goes into making a FRIENDS is relatively unknown - until now. SITUATION COMEDY, a ten episode series, will bring viewers into the world of television production as the search for the hottest undiscovered writing talent begins. To compete, each candidate must submit a script for a pilot/presentation reel. The pool will be narrowed to five semi-finalists who will be flown to Los Angeles to pitch their ideas to established sitcom producers. From there, two will be chosen to each create pilots based on the script, and both will be followed through casting, set design, rewrites, rehearsals, taping and post-production. As an added bonus, the completed pilots will be screened during the final episode and the viewers will make the executive decision on which, if either, merits attention from a network for a series order or "re-piloting".

It has been described as CANDID CAMERA meets CURB YOUR ENTHUSIAM. The six episodes of this unique hybrid half-hour are based on the actual life of comedian Howie Mandel. HIDDEN HOWIE: THE PRIVATE LIFE OF A PUBLIC NUISANCE takes a look inside the comic mind as we see Howie in his "daily life" and how his interactions inspire and inform the process of creating his hidden camera segments for THE TONIGHT SHOW. HIDDEN HOWIE: THE PRIVATE LIFE OF A PUBLIC NUISANCE has a terrific cast of characters including Julie Warner as Howie´s wife, Estelle Harris as Nana and special guest stars Jay Leno, Marlee Matlin, Jillian Barberie, John Mendoza and many more.
