Hands Down - THE CONTENDER 2 Is The Best Show On TV This Year (Review)

THE CONTENDER returns to TV this evening but with a vengeance. There are no more stupid obstacle courses or challenges that fighters went through last season. There is no more Sylvester Stallone who is off shooting ROCKY 6. And the product placement of advertising has been cut down somewhat.

What there is real talent of boxers who are real people. The series is very emotional, powerful and a must for all sports fan. From the creator of SURVIVOR and THE APPRENTICE, Mark Burnett and his crew takes Season 2 Of THE CONTENDER up a notch - a BIG Notch!

THE CONTENDER 2 has also found new home at ESPN this season - where it seems to be the most logical place to be shown since it is a sports reality show.

Thanks to our friends at ESPN, we had a chance to preview the first two episodes of Season Two and we wanted the show never to end. It is by far the best show on TV this season - hands down. We were yelling and we were screaming at the TV as we found new heros this season where the nice guy doesn′t always finish last.

Each episode culminates in a five-round professional bout where the winner moves one step closer to the grand cash prize and a shot at the title of Contender Champion. The series concludes later this year with a live finale from Staples Center in Los Angeles.

In the first two episodes we were literally rooting for the underdogs and we were not disappointed. And no one will be disappointed with Season 2. Most of the 16 boxers this season seem to have alot more personality and are alot more enjoyable to watch.

If you are a sports fan or a reality TV fan, this show has the best of both worlds. As we said - THE CONTENDER Season 2 is by far the "BEST" show on TV. Period!

Season 2 of THE CONTENDER premieres tonight (Tuesday), July 18, 2006 with a special two hour presentation at 9:00 pm EST on ESPN.

Yesterday, RealityTVWebsite.com posted bios of all 16 boxers from Season 2 - which can be access by going to:
