CBC′S George Stroumboulopoulos To Host THE ONE: MAKING A MUSIC STAR, Premiering Tuesday, July 18 On ABC, With The First Results Show Airing Wednesday, July 19

Canadian George Stroumboulopoulos has been named host of THE ONE: MAKING A MUSIC STAR, the series that goes behind the scenes to see 11 talented performers share the opportunity of a lifetime, as they learn from successful music business professionals while competing for a major recording contract.

"I′ve been around the music industry for a long time and worked with all kinds of artists at different stages of their careers," said Stroumboulopoulos. "I′m excited to be working on a show with people who will be getting fully prepared for what it′s really like in the music business, the good and the bad. These singers will go through rigorous training. It′s going to be a crazy ride, and I′ll be with them every step of the way!"

A veteran music expert and Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC) television star, Stroumboulopoulos is the host of "The Hour," CBC Television′s new late-night talk show, featuring interviews, viewpoints and headlines in music, entertainment, politics and pop culture. Before joining CBC Television, he was a producer and host of MuchMusic′s "The Punk Show," "The NewMusic" and "Loud and MuchNews."

THE ONE: MAKING A MUSIC STAR premieres Live, Tuesday, July 18 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET), with the LIVE results show to air the following night, Wednesday, July 19 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
