Everything You′ve Ever Wanted to Know About What REALLY Goes on Behind the Scenes of a Music Competition Show Will Be Revealed
Summer Series Based on Endemol Spanish Smash Hit, OPERACISN TRIUNFO
The smash hit, critically-acclaimed Spanish Endemol series, OPERACISN TRIUNFO - which garnered a 70% share and broke Spanish television records -- is coming to the U.S. as THE ONE: MAKING A MUSIC STAR. The new series will premiere Tuesday, July 18 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET) and the first results show will air Wednesday, July 19 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET).
THE ONE: MAKING A MUSIC STAR will follow the lives of 11 contestants as they attend a fully functioning music academy in Los Angeles. The music academy offers vocal coaching, choreography/dance lessons, image consulting, fitness training and more... all with the top experts in their given fields.
Contestants will be on camera essentially 24/7, providing a real-life soap opera as they live and work together in a house with state-of-the-art training and recording facilities. And behind the scenes, viewers will get to see all of the drama between the contestants, including romances, rivalries and more. All this leads to a weekly live performance, where this group of amateur singers will face the immense pressures of performing live in front of an audience of millions.
Each week a contestant will be eliminated; after 10 weeks/20 episodes, the eventual winner will receive a recording contract with a major record company.
THE ONE: MAKING A MUSIC STAR is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. David Goldberg is the President of Endemol USA. The series is executive produced by Matt Kunitz, and will air with Spanish subtitles via secondary closed captioning.
