MTV Takes Trash-Talking To New York With Second Season Of Wilmer Valderrama′s Hit Series, YO MOMMA
Comedy Competition Gets the Green Light For All New Season This Fall
On the heels of concluding a wildly successful first season, MTV: Music Television announced that YO MOMMA, the popular trash-talking comedy competition, will return for a second season this fall. Hosted by Wilmer Valderrama, and Executive Produced by Valderrama and Evolution Film & Tape Inc., YO MOMMA will return to showcase the trash-talking talents of an all new city: New York. Exploring every borough, neighborhood, and street corner, Wilmer and his sidekicks will canvas the Big Apple in search of New York′s funniest amateur trash-talker.
"YO MOMMA is a hilarious ride that really connects with our audience, both in the afternoons and at night," said Lois Curren, Executive Vice President, Entertainment and Programming, MTV. "When Rod Aissa and I met Wilmer, his charm and creativity blew us away, so we knew it was an easy decision to bring the series back. We′re excited to see all the great things New York has to offer."
The full season of YO MOMMA reached 61 million viewers (includes premiere and repeat telecasts) and the series ranked #1 in its time period (Mon-Thu 6-630P) among P12-34 versus cable competition. Additionally, it was the most watched in its time period among P12-24 across all of television.
YO MOMMA is a no-holds barred competition that pits the funniest amateur trash-talkers against one another. In each episode of YO MOMMA, Wilmer searches different neighborhoods to find the most astute trash-talkers. The finalists from each opposing area then will utilize information from "targeted home invasions" conducted by Wilmer to make their one-on-one slams incredibly personal. The top two contestants each day will compete for a cash prize and bragging rights of being the best clowner in their neighborhood, as well as the opportunity to move forward in the trash- talking tournament.
