Anchal, a sales clerk from Homestead, Florida, was the seventh girl eliminated during the seventh cycle of The CW′s hit dramality series AMERICA′S NEXT TOP MODEL, reducing the pool from 7 girls to 6.
The girls hit the beach with professional model and athlete Gabrielle Reece, who taught them about action modeling. As the girls posed in bikinis and dove for volleyballs on the beach, Anchal grew increasingly uncomfortable. "I′m not a very sportsy person. I don′t need to be in a bikini doing sportsy moves. I′m not very happy about it." Gabrielle commented that Anchal appeared shy. "I think it′s just a question of her getting comfortable knowing that she can do it," Gabrielle said.
The next day, the girls met with personal stylist and author James St. James and NASCAR driver Stanton Barrett to make use of their recent action modeling knowledge. They also were responsible for using a remote control to take their own photos. While most of the girls had fun with this unique photo shoot, Anchal again felt uneasy. "When it gets to my turn I′m so nervous," Anchal said. Even Stanton noticed her lack of passion and asked her how badly she wanted to model.
The following day, Jay Manuel met with the girls for their first CoverGirl assignment for the new TrueBlend Whipped Foundation cosmetic line. The girls were taken to a skydiving training facility and placed over a giant fan to keep them airborne for their photo shoot. Although Anchal was looking forward to the photo shoot, she did not impress Jay. "Anchal didn′t come off graceful," he said.
During the judging, each girl was asked to act out the combination of a verb and an adverb. The judges were disappointed in Anchal′s lack of commitment in portraying her words: "dancing aggressively." Twiggy noted that Anchal always looked embarrassed when asked to do something. The judges agreed that while Anchal has a natural beauty, she had not shown them the level of commitment they were looking for. "When you really want something, you show up hard. You show up strong." Tyra said before eliminating her from the race to become AMERICA′S NEXT TOP MODEL.
In addition to a $100,000 contract with cosmetics giant CoverGirl, this year′s prize package for the winner of The CW′s AMERICA′S NEXT TOP MODEL will include a contract with Elite Model Management and a cover and six-page fashion spread in Seventeen magazine.
