AMERICAN IDOL Ringtones Now Available From Cingular - Live Performances of Their Favorite Idol Contestants

Cingular Wireless Debuts the Latest AMERICAN IDOL Star, Live Idol Ringtones: Another Cingular Exclusive

Only Cingular Customers Can Relive the Live Performances of Their Favorite Idol Contestants on Their Wireless Phones

Cingular Wireless, the Official Telecommunications Sponsor of AMERICAN IDOL, today announced it is now offering its 54 million customers the opportunity to enjoy the talents of their favorite AMERICAN IDOL contestants over and over again with Live Idol Ringtones. Now for the first time in history, many of the actual live performances of "Idol" finalists will be available as ringtones, exclusively to Cingular customers. For any contestant whose song may not have received publisher clearance that week, Cingular will release a new ringtone of a song performed by that contestant in an earlier round of the show.

In previous seasons, customers have been able to purchase ringtones of the AMERICAN IDOL theme song and many of the songs featured on the show by the original artists. With Live Idol Ringtones, however, this is the first time Cingular customers are able to purchase ringtones of the songs actually sung by the contestants themselves. And, if that isn´t cool enough, Cingular customers will be able to purchase and download ringtones of selected songs performed live on Tuesday night´s performance show the very next day. Typically, it takes traditional recorded music months to go from recording to distribution. With Live Idol Ringtones, Cingular is breaking new ground by turning live recorded music into ringtones in less than 24 hours.

"One of the reasons AMERICAN IDOL is the number one show in television is because it showcases people making great music," said John Burbank, vice president, marketing, Cingular Wireless. "Live Idol Ringtones allow Cingular customers to show their support for their favorite contestants while taking that great music with them wherever they go."

How Live Idol Ringtones Work
Beginning tonight, and during each subsequent AMERICAN IDOL performance show this season, a high-quality recording of the remaining finalists´ songs will be digitally remastered into a ringtone overnight, pending publisher clearance. The songs cleared and recorded will be available the very next day as ringtones for purchase and download. To make it even easier for customers to purchase a ringtone of their favorite Idol´s performance each week, Cingular allows customers to reserve songs performed that night. The next day, a text message is sent to the customer´s phone at which time he or she can purchase and download the cleared songs as Live Idol Ringtones.

Cingular provides three easy ways for customers to purchase Live Idol Ringtones:
1. Text "IDOL" to 8008 for a direct link to the latest finalist Live Idol Ringtones

2. Go to MEdia Net on your Cingular phone, choose Ringtones, and then AMERICAN IDOL

3. Go online to http://www.cingularsource.com/idol/tones.

Live Idol Ringtones are available nationwide for $2.49 per ringtone. As the weeks progress, customers will also be able to browse and buy Live Idol Ringtones from past performances for this season. Additionally, customers can sign up for weekly text alerts that inform them when Live Idol Ringtones become available.

For more information on Live Idol Ringtones, visit http://www.cingularsource.com/idol/tones.

* All songs performed on AMERICAN IDOL are subject to publisher clearance and may not be available as Live Idol Ringtones.

New Reality Show VOICES OF JOY Announced To Find Most Exciting Church Choir - Gospel Music

First-of-Its-Kind Nationally Televised Competition Will Find America´s Most Exciting Church Choir: Voices of Joy Will Award over $1.3mm in Scholarship Money to Survivors of a Reality Television-Style Competition That Will Crisscross the Nation

A new type of reality television program called VOICES OF JOY will be launched today in a nationwide quest to find America´s most exciting church choir. The competition will pit church choirs from 12 key markets against one another in an intense, but inspiring, series of regional events this spring, followed by nationally televised weekly programs this fall. Over $1.3 million in educational scholarships will be awarded to choirs as they advance in the competition, with the winning group receiving $500,000.

Church music groups across the country are encouraged to submit a tape or DVD of three songs by May 15, 2006 (additional entry information is available on www.voicesofjoytv.com). Eight choirs will be selected from the overall applicants in each of the 12 markets and will be invited to perform in front of a panel of judges in areas including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, Miami, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Seattle, Boston, Washington DC and Detroit. One winning Church choir in each market will be invited to represent their city and compete in the nationally-televised competition this fall, where they will be judged by a panel of experts and the viewing public.

VOICES OF JOY is the brainchild of Michael Ilitch, founder of Ilitch Holdings, whose properties include Little Caesar´s Pizza, the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Red Wings.

"VOICES OF JOY is more than just a competition for church groups, it is an inspirational reality show-based series of live events and television programs for the entire family. But the beauty of this competition is that, unlike other reality shows, everyone of the finalists wins something," said Ilitch. "This interfaith program will not only showcase some of the country´s most inspirational music, but it will give viewers of all creeds an opportunity to get to know some of the most outstanding personalities involved in America´s church communities and follow their amazing stories."

Spirituality on the Rise

VOICES OF JOY is a direct result of the tremendous upsurge in spirituality across America. The country´s appetite for Church music is growing exponentially as it plays a key role in helping people connect with their spirituality and faith. In fact, research shows that U.S. Gospel music sales have increased more than 80% in the last 10 years from $381 million to over $700 million in 2004. And yet despite its growing popularity and importance among American families, a void currently exists for nationally-televised church music entertainment.

Special Edition Of EXTREME MAKEOVER Heads to New Orleans For Rebuilding Effort On ABC

EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION Team Helps Rebuild New Orleans´ Spiritual Heart In The 9th Ward And Brings Music And Light To This Beloved City During Mardi Gras

Striving to heal the hearts of victims of Hurricane Katrina, the EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION team travels to New Orleans´ 9th Ward to help restore cornerstones of the community, reunite families and pets, and bring light and music back to one of America´s most beloved cities. EXTREME MAKEOVER HOME EDITION - AFTER THE STORM, NEW ORLEANS airs Thursday, April 6 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION design team and scores of volunteers completed the following projects:

When Hurricane Katrina and the post-storm flooding hit New Orleans, the 118-year-old First Emmanuel Baptist Church, which had served a congregation of over 1,000, was badly damaged. Now EXTREME MAKEOVER HOME EDITION designer Michael Moloney and local builder Donahue Favret will help bring back the community by bringing back the church. At the reveal of the freshly-renovated church, Michael and Pastor Charles Southall III gather the congregation, complete with gospel choir, for the first service at the church since the Hurricane.

In addition, Ty Pennington and Paul DiMeo personally deliver new instruments, courtesy of Gibson/Music Rising, to local musicians who lost everything in the floods - Craig Klein, Barney Floyd, Larry Batiste, Ken "Snakebite" Jacobs, Irvin Mayfield and Archille O´Neal. The giveaway culminates in a rousing concert by the musicians celebrating the comeback of New Orleans and Mardi Gras at one of the city´s favorite music venues.

In Katrina´s aftermath, thousands of pets were rescued and sent to foster homes and shelters nationwide. Paul DiMeo fulfills the wishes of many families in an emotional segment by reuniting them with their furry friends.

Since the floods of Hurricane Katrina, 600 children and their families have returned to rebuild their lives and play once again in St. Bernard´s Parish, but unfortunately there is no playground. Eduardo Xol, plus scores of volunteers, will build a playground so these children can have a happy and safe place to play again in their neighborhood.

Also, in hard-hit St. Bernard Parish, Paige Hemmis helps returning residents track down irreplaceable family photos in their devastated homes and has professional photo restorers save what was thought to be lost forever. The newly-restored images of loved ones and personal milestones are revealed to hundreds of families.

The design team for this episode of EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION will feature team leader Ty Pennington, Paul DiMeo, Michael Moloney, Paige Hemmis and Eduardo Xol.

Rock Star 2 Details Announce With Summer Release on CBS - Features Tommy Lee

CBS´s ROCK STAR (working title) To Select Lead Singer For The New Band - SUPERNOVA - Formed By Drummer Tommy Lee (Motley Crüe) With Bassist Jason Newsted (Metallica) And Guitarist Gilby Clarke (Guns N´ Roses)

New Lead Singer To Be Chosen From 16 Hopefuls When The Second Edition Of CBS´s ROCK STAR Returns Summer 2006

New Album To Be Produced By Butch Walker (ROLLING STONE Magazine´s 2005 "Hot Producer Of The Year")

CBS and Mark Burnett Productions announced that legendary musicians from some of the biggest American rock bands have joined forces to form a new band, Supernova, and will use CBS´s ROCK STAR (working title) as the competition to determine the new lead singer.

Supernova will feature drummer Tommy Lee (Motley Crüe), Jason Newsted (Metallica) and Gilby Clarke (Guns N´ Roses). The second edition of CBS´s ROCK STAR will premiere on the Network this summer.

After the winning singer is selected on CBS´s ROCK STAR, Supernova will record an original album, to be co-written and produced by Butch Walker (hit songwriter/producer for Avril Lavigne, Pink) that will be released in the fall before the band embarks on a world tour starting in early 2007.

"I´ve toured with both Gilby and Jason. They´re incredible musicians and I´ve always wanted to play with them," said Tommy Lee. "Starting a new band with old friends on worldwide television is going to be a blast, and we´re going to pull out all the stops to find the most charismatic and musically talented lead singer to front Supernova. I love breaking the rules."

Bassist Jason Newsted added, "This is a fantastic opportunity for me to play with guys I´ve respected for a long time. It gives us a chance to be innovators. This is a new thing. It´s never been done before. We´re going to break new ground musically and on television. The anticipation is building in me Lead guitarist and co-writer Gilby Clarke proclaimed, "Rock n´ Roll is so alive and I´m so excited to be a part of CBS´s ROCK STAR. This is television history. Where else can you raid three historic bands to form one great band? I can´t wait for the summer to begin."

Butch Walker will join the project as co-writer and producer of the new album. Working with the dudes from Guns N´ Roses, Motley Crüe, and Metallica sounds like nothing but trouble, so I´m in! I´m looking forward to whoever the new lead singer is going to be so the guys can start corrupting their mind...!"

Dave Navarro and Brooke Burke will return as hosts, with Burke returning to the stage for introductions and Navarro returning to the judges´ couch for input and evaluations. "Last year, doing ROCK STAR: INXS was the greatest summer job of my life," Navarro affirmed. "This year, I´m on the couch with my friends Tommy Lee, Gilby Clarke and Jason Newsted as they choose Supernova´s lead singer."

This summer´s edition of CBS´s ROCK STAR will also feature some format twists with a different music celebrity or rock legend each week. Said Navarro, "Friends of mine, like Slash, Macy Gray, Moby and Rob Zombie, will join us and throw in their two cents about who should stay and who should go."

In the first season of CBS´s ROCK STAR, rock sensation INXS found their new lead singer in Canadian heartthrob J.D. Fortune. Since the show, INXS has taken to the studio and the road, releasing their massive hit single "Pretty Vegas" and selling out every concert in their North American tour. Their new CD, "Switch," debuted in the Billboard Top 20, and is currently going gold and platinum in countries around the world.

"Millions dream of becoming a rock star....our show actually makes that happen," said Mark Burnett, creator and executive producer of CBS´s ROCK STAR. "The winner of CBS´s ROCK STAR will not only play in huge stadiums before sold out crowds, they will do it alongside legendary musicians from three of America´s biggest, all-time rock bands who have sold a combined total of a quarter of a billion albums: Motley Crüe, Guns N´ Roses and Metallica. Fronting Supernova is the ultimate rock ´n´ roll dream and it´s about to come true."

Tommy Lee rose to stardom as a founding member of Motley Crüe. One of the most successful rock bands in history, Motley Crüe has sold over 40 million albums while also becoming the poster boys of rock star decadence. Most recently, Lee released his third solo album, "Tommyland: The Ride," and announced a documentary project with award-winning filmmaker Bruce Sinofsky. His candid 2004 memoir, "Tommyland," landed on The NEW YORK TIMES best-seller list.

Jason Newsted is a six-time Grammy winner and was a longtime member of the legendary band Metallica, one of the most successful musical acts of all time (100 million albums sold worldwide). After his departure from Metallica, Newsted created the band EchoBrain and, in 2003, he began touring with Ozzy Osbourne while also playing bass for the iconic techno-thrash band, Voivod.

Gilby Clarke was the guitarist for the iconic rock band, Guns N´ Roses (90 million albums sold), traveling on their legendary and infamous three-year "Use Your Illusion" world tour. He also worked with Michael Jackson, Lenny Kravitz, Jeff Beck, MC5 and on the Freddy Mercury Tribute Concert. He was a recipient of the MTV Video Vanguard Award.

Butch Walker is best known as the songwriter, musician and producer behind hit songs for Avril Lavigne, Pink, Bowling for Soup and for Tommy Lee´s recent solo album, "Tommyland: The Ride". His song "My Happy Ending" went to Number One for Avril Lavigne and was the key track in her nine-time platinum album "Under My Skin," leading to him being named by ROLLING STONE magazine as "Hot Producer of the Year" in 2005. Pink´s new album, "I´m Not Dead," features two Butch Walker compositions.
